About

MexicanInsurance.ca is an educational resource for Canadian and U.S. drivers who want to understand Mexican auto insurance before traveling south of the border.

Our goal is to make Mexican insurance easier to understand by explaining liability coverage, physical damage, theft, deductibles, roadside assistance, accidents, claims, and other insurance considerations that can affect foreign drivers in Mexico.

Insurance Experience Dating Back to 1979

The experience behind MexicanInsurance.ca has roots dating back to 1979, when insurance professional Linden Gray began his career in commercial underwriting. That experience later led to the establishment of Mexican Insurance Store in California in 2004, specializing in Mexican auto insurance for travelers driving into Mexico.

Since 2004, Mexican Insurance Store has helped more than 200,000 Canadian and U.S. drivers obtain Mexican auto insurance for trips throughout Baja California, Sonora, and mainland Mexico.

Mexican Insurance for Canadian Drivers

Canadian travelers often have different trip-planning considerations. Many drive thousands of kilometres through the United States before entering Mexico, while snowbirds and seasonal travelers may remain in Mexico for weeks or months.

MexicanInsurance.ca maintains a Canadian-first perspective while also providing information for U.S. drivers whenever the same Mexican insurance rules, coverage questions, and driving considerations apply to both.

Coverage From Established Mexican Insurers

Mexican Insurance Store offers policies from established insurers including CHUBB, HDI, and MAPFRE. Available policies can include liability protection, physical damage, theft, legal assistance, roadside assistance, and other benefits depending on the insurer and coverage selected.

Our educational content is designed to help travelers understand those differences before choosing a policy rather than simply purchasing insurance without knowing what the coverage provides.
